I’m thrilled to be back in Taiwan, a country of breathtaking landscapes, delicious cuisine, and warm-hearted people. This time, I’m preparing something entirely new and challenging for my voice, but when the theater invited me to return, I eagerly embraced the opportunity.
I will step into the shoes of Mrs. Quickly from Verdi’s Falstaff, the clever merry wife of Windsor who, along with her friends, mischievously plays with the affections of men. Her iconic line, “Reverenza”, has been a focal point of my practice, as I’ve worked intensively to bring out the sharpness and maturity of the character while still blending it with my youthful voice. My portrayal of Quickly will be a mix of the sly, seductive woman next door, and I can’t wait to match wits with the incredible Lucio Gallo, my fantastic Falstaff, as we bring this comic Verdi masterpiece to life.
